Arrimage is recognised as a charitable aid association of general interest, certified for youth and popular education, founded in 1992 by Claude Garrandès.
In particular, its purpose is to create embossed images in all media to foster the development of ‘mental images’ in unsighted persons.
L'Atelier, the association’s workshop, is a former sheepfold, restored by volunteers to make it a convivial, authentic functional venue. Located in Nice, near Boulevard Gorbella, on Petite Avenue du Patrimoine (no.6), it is open to all: children and adults, able-bodied or not, disabled persons (all disabilities taken together) in search of a place for expression.
To achieve these goals, Arrimage works in several fields of action (details available through the links below):
- Publication of embossed art publications through Éditions Garrandès;
- Signalling and adapting artworks for the blind and visually impaired;
- Technical and cultural events on our premises or in situ;
- Art workshops on our premises or in situ;
- Educational activities in partnership with various players (National Education, Museums, Foundations, etc.).
